PC culture has a very bad connotation nowadays.
Many teenage boys feel special through the fact that they disprove of PC culture, as if they are the only ones who feel that way.
However, these people are so boring. You can find a hundred of them for every one woke person you find. I would honestly be much more entertained talking to a PC advocate than a PC hater.
As Harvard Business Review states, “While [PC culture] has helped many traditionally underrepresented employees to experience their workplace as more inclusive, the PC rule book can hinder employees' ability to develop effective relationships across potentially divisive group differences.”, showing how the issue is clearly double-sided, there is good and bad from indulging in the “PC book of rules.” Ironically, we may isolate others through our attempts to include them.
What is PC language?
I’m not certain.
Some examples of PC language include “person with diabetes” for “diabetic”, “very drunk” for “blind drunk”, “chair” for “chairman,” and “differently interesting” for “boring.”
For example, imagine you are in the workplace with your coworker, who proceeds to strike up conversation with you, “can you believe what happened on the presidential debate last night?” At first, you might want to groan in agony and hold your hands on your face, crying, “why are you so boring?” However, trying to be considerate to your coworker’s feelings might help to keep them from bursting into tears. Instead, say, “wow, you sure are a differently interesting person. It’s important to surround yourself with a diverse scope of people in order to be more well adapted to the world’s livelihood.” I believe this is a true pro of PC culture, the ability to accept others and broaden your worldview. Other people are able to do this no matter if they accept PC culture or not. Overall, PC culture doesn’t seem to fit into our society well. People seem to be able to accept others without needed PC language just fine. However, PC culture could be a helpful tool in moderation.

  1. I like how you developed your argument to show your qualifying opinion about PC. You stated both the pros and cons of PC language and then showed how it both helps the world, and how sometimes it is not needed; your mentioning of both sides was interesting. Also, your integration of evidence in your blog also makes your blog convincing.

  2. I thought it was cool how you came up with your own example to back your argument. I think noting that PC should be used in moderation makes a lot more sense than taking such a polar stance on the issue.
